Supro S488B Pocket Bass 1960's - Used

Behold, the Pocket Bass! This vintage, VERY short scale bass has a scale length of only 25 inches, making for effortless playability. The neck pickup on this bass delivers enormous, warm, upright-bass-like tone that is perfect for R&B, soul, or any genre where the bass needs to hold down a BIG low end. Built in the mid-late 1960's, this bass's other interesting features include a built-in bridge piezo pickup, and oversized backplate (covers the 'pocket' routes in the back of the bass), a zero fret at the nut, and original acrylic thumb and finger rests!

This Supro S488B Bass is in Very Good condition. The original tuning machines have been replaced with modern Gotoh machines. The wiring has been modified (currently has volume + blend controls), but the pickups are original. Excepting the tuning machines, the instrument appears to be original. The headstock has light wear around the edges and some light scratches on its front face. The areas where the original tuning machines were installed on the back of the headstock are missing some finish. The original frets show only light wear near the nut, excellent condition for an instrument of this age. The body has small nicks, dings, and scratches throughout, but has no serious damage or structural issues. No case or accessories included. Due to the vintage and unique nature of this instrument, this bass is being sold As-Is.

The instrument shown in the photos is of the actual instrument offered for sale! We'll double-inspect and play-test, professionally pack with care, and ship this instrument within 1 business day, and most cases, the same day if the order is placed by 3pm EST.
